What Should I Feed My Fish?

Most fish will thrive on a diet of flakes, freeze dried food and live foods with a few eccentricities (my siamese fighting fish (betta) for instance, has only freeze dried bloodworms, and will not touch flakes).
That said, you also need to look at a few aspects before feeding your fish.
If the fish are bottom dwellers, like catfishes, or are bigger in size pellet foods would be a good option, since they have more bulk.
If possible, you should provide a variety in the diet alternating the flakes and freeze dried foods with live foods. However, while feeding them live foods, you need to ensure that they are safe of any parasites. Because of the conditions in which they are bred, they tend to become carriers for bacteria or parasites. Worms also tend to wriggle under the gravel and can create somewhat of a nuisance – this is one of the reasons I tend to favor freeze dried worms to live worms.

Just make sure the food you feed your fish does not pollute the water. You could also try lettuce leaves (dip them in boiling water for a few seconds), and they are ready for the aquarium or peas. For peas however, you would have to ensure they ate soft and slightly mash them.
Brightly colored fish like the parrot fish also need some amount of beef heart in their diet, while predatory fish like piranha or oscars or cichlids could also be fed live food like feeder fishes.
