Smuggled Fish Get Deported Back To Singapore

The Chennai airport customs officials on Tuesday seized ornamental fish worth Rs 1,50,000 from two passengers coming from Singapore.
The first was a passenger from Singapore Tiger Airlines who was found carrying 40 medium arowana fish and 60 small ornamental fish packed in polythene covers filled with oxygen and water. The fish are worth Rs 60,000 in the local market.
The other passenger from Singapore came on an Air India flight. with 300 ornamental fish packed in the same manner. The value of these fishes is estimated to be around Rs 1,50,000.
While the fish were ordered to be re-exported to the country of origin, the traffickers involved in the case have been penalised. [Via]
I wonder how many fish survive such an ordeal.
