Free The Whale Shark At The Atlantis Hotel, Dubai
The management talk of “rescuing” an animal, who was in distress, but apparently, capturing a whale shark was always part of the hotel’s plan to provide an added tourist attraction.
And from all reports, the Atlantis Hotel on the Palm Jumeriah island off Dubai is succeeding in drawing people. More than a third of the visitors, come to seethe 4m (13ft) whale shark that circles the hotel’s aquarium, which resembles the ruins of Atlantis (the so-called Lost City).
The shark, who could grow up to 18m (58ft), was caught off the coast of Dubai six weeks ago.
Somebody needs to point out to these guys that as an endangered species, whales sharks are protected under the Cites convention.
