The Case Of The Missing Tetras
Okay, this is one case I am still trying to wrap my head around. It all started with 6 neon tetras, admittedly small ones, happily ensconced in a community tank with a pair of zebra danois, a single paradise fish, 2 pairs of rams, a pair of diamond rainbows, a pair of serpea tetras, a dwarf gourami and a flame red gourami .. and yes, a pair of sucker fish.
None of these, of what I have read, appear to be the kind that will eat other innocent fish (a nip here and there perhaps, but sheer cannibalism …?)
I am told that the paradise fish occasionally head butts smaller fish, but considering that I now have only 2 neon tetras left in the tank, it would take a great deal more than headbutting.
For some time, we thought the maid might have done it, in the absense of a butler, but after repeated denials, I think she might be telling the truth.
We are still however left with 4 neon tetras who seem to have done a vanishing act. Any ideas?
